A bomb threat which caused a Pakistan International Airlines plane to make an emergency landing in Sweden last week was caused by a jilted woman.
When the woman had called Canadian police to tell them that a flight from Toronto to Karachi had a bomb on board, the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Stockholm.
On Saturday, Swedish police evacuated 273 passengers and arrested the woman's ex-boyfriend, who was on board.
The 28-year-old Canadian man was later released without charge after no explosives were found on the plane.
The man, who had been due to get married in Karachi, had been accused by his ex-lover of carrying the bomb.
She made the call to police because she had been angered about his impending marriage and the calling-off of their love affair.
Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet said she came forward with the claim because their separation had not been a happy one.
Canadian police said the woman had rung twice claiming a man on the flight had explosives.
They have said they will now determine whether there was a deliberate intent on behalf of the caller to mislead the police or if the incident should be treated as a terrorism hoax.
